In April we presented six values to our team. After living with them and shaping them together, we have now formally adopted them across the organisation. They are not words on a wall — they are how we work.
Values we live, not values we laminate
Plenty of organisations have a values statement gathering dust on a wall. We wanted ours to be different. In April, we presented six values to our team — not as a management directive, but as a shared articulation of how we already try to work and how we want to keep working as we grow. After time to live with them and shape them, they have now been formally adopted across Elevate Technology Solutions.
They are the test we hold our decisions against, from how we answer the phone to how we quote a job. Here is what each one means to us, in plain terms.
Diversity
“Difference is not tolerated, it is celebrated.”
We are not looking for cookie-cutter clients, or cookie-cutter print and IT solutions. Every business we work with is different, and that difference is exactly what makes the work worth doing. We celebrate it in our team and in our clients, because the best outcomes come from understanding what makes each organisation unique rather than forcing everyone into the same template.
Innovative
“Just because no-one else is doing it doesn’t mean it can’t be done.”
Innovation, for us, is not novelty for its own sake. It is a willingness to question the way things have always been done and to find a better path when the standard one falls short. If a client has a problem that the usual products do not solve, our instinct is to work out how it can be done, not to explain why it cannot.
Integrity
“If it’s not right, no amount of money makes it worth doing.”
Integrity is the value that governs all the others. We give honest advice even when it means recommending less, not more. We will walk away from work that is not right for a client rather than take it simply because it is available. That standard has cost us short-term revenue over the years, and earned us long-term trust that is worth far more.
Community
“No-one is an island, collaboration with others is key.”
We are grounded in Geelong, and we succeed by working alongside the businesses, suppliers and community organisations around us. Collaboration is not a buzzword here; it is how the work actually gets done. We invest in the community that has supported us for more than four decades, because our success and the region’s are tied together.
People
“Much more than just business-title associations.”
Behind every account is a person, not a job title. We build genuine relationships with the people we work with, and we look after our own team the same way. Technology is what we sell, but people are what the business is actually made of, and we never lose sight of that.
Trust
“The most valuable intangible currency that we trade in.”
Trust is the currency underneath everything. Clients hand us their equipment, their data and their confidence, and we treat that as something to be earned continually rather than assumed. It is the slowest asset to build and the fastest to lose, which is exactly why we protect it so carefully. It’s how we Elevate.
Why we are sharing them
These values are not marketing. They are a commitment, and commitments are easier to keep when they are made in the open. By publishing them, we are inviting our clients and community to hold us to them.
